It's Saturday, so what am I doing up at 7:00?!?!
Set myself a wee challenge- 5 hr bike ride, ambitious you might think an I'd most certainly agree!!! After a hearty breakfast I headed off and arrived at the gym for 8:45!
Matt very kindly brought me out a spin bike, after hearing my pledge he thought this would be a good idea. And there it began I didn't make the full 5hrs obvs, I did however, make 4hrs and 145km which works to roughly 96 miles!!! And....Other than being dreadfully saddle sore hahaha I feel great!!! :D

Yes, as you can probably tell it was not a good week in the world of training last week!!! One day at the gym and a football game!!

Football was storming, fitness felt on form, although I made a school girl error forgetting to open and close the gates thus ending up with a small groin pull!!!

Back on it this week though!!! It's a personal promise!!! ;))

Weekend of peaks and troughs!!

Philip and I set off for the peak district Saturday morning, a pretty nice relaxing drive to castleton. We arrived for 12pm, a sudden realisation that my clean polished walking boots were at home!!!!
Philip had a fab idea though as my trainers are not waterproof he advised plastic bags on my feet....

We walked from castleton up to mam tor with 30 mph winds, snow flurries, and in the main sun....descending through hope valley and finding a little mine cavern to rest and explore, all in all walking 16.8km was pretty cool!!! My feet on the other hand were soaking wet and trainers covered in mud... :(....

So today, my fundraising beauty Jules went on a fundraising expedition!!! We scaled the length and breath of Leamington, collaring 30 businesses all in all in the freezing cold! Jules saved the day with Fish n chips for lunch...The food of champions I think it's called...nom nom nom!!! ;)

Training this morning (yep, in the gym for 7:30ish) has seen a slight improvement woohoo!!

I JOGGED on the treadmill 3.50k in 30 mins. The gym was pretty much empty too, so minimal embarrassment had I been propelled off the end - I can confirm that this did not occur!!! Phew!!

Leg press - 80 reps in set of 2x 30 & 1x20 at 55lb (I think)
...
Lat pull downs - 80 reps in sets of 20 can't remember the weight, doh!

General mood in *base-camp, POSITIVE (LY) knackered!!!

*bed

Have not been in any post training pain today, there are three possible reasons why -

1) I am part bionic women

2) I have the ability to recover at the speed of light

3) I didn't work hard enough

Take your pick!!! ;)

04/02/2012

Completed, except for lunges mainly because I forgot how to do them.... Hahah... I did instead do some weighted core twisty things lols and a 4.6k speed walk in 40mins ( I'm not sure if that's good or not...)

FACT: Working out increase energy!! I kid you not, usually I have to drag myself up to complete ironing chores!! ;)

So.... Thursday at 6:30am, I had my very first gym session!!! Mat, (my Personal Trainer) oh yes I have a PT, who instructed me on ever single piece of gym equipment! I learnt a very valuable lesson - I have the upper body strength of a jellyfish...which meant that during the use of a particular piece of equipment I was very nearly catapulted from the seat!!!! Mat, very kindly pointed out that ther...e was a seatbelt!! ;) Anyhow, 8:45am could not come quick enough, and I was actually quite literally dying to get into work....

Today, however, was a very different story!!! I clarify- it is possible to get from a horizontal position to standing without bending a single limb, and, was it possible to drive in a vertical position my day would have been just dandy! Alas it's not, and I can't, and yes, today any movement that included any type of bending motion I felt as though I'd been hit by a steam train!!!

Home sweet home + radox bath + film in bed = heaven :D

Gym tomorrow, eeeeeek!!!!
